The songs that I’ve chosen are all from my Top 25 Most Played list. There are over three thousand songs in my iTunes library so I thought it would be quicker and easier to songs out of the top twenty-five. The songs that are listed above are not the first five of the list but my favorite songs out of the bunch. Half of these songs (1,4,and 5) I found while YouTube surfing and the others (2,3 and 6) were most likely from Pandora. The variety of songs would throw the average person off since each song is of a different genre. Most people would probably assume that I have very wide taste in music and they’re right, I do. I dabble in just about everything except country music, but even with my wide range of music if someone tried to get to know me from this playlist they would be better off trying to hotwire a car. Music can’t tell you everything. Listening to this playlist won’t be able to tell a person my favorite color or hobby. How I interpret these songs could be completely different than someone else’s interpretation so listening to the playlist what they would learn from them would be close to meaningless if they didn’t know me already. The six songs that I’ve chosen aren’t necessarily connected to my personality or how I view myself, but more about the emotions evoked by the lyrics. I honestly think musical preference and personality are strongly connected to one another but it’s very hard to just use music in trying to figure out someone’s personality when lyrics could be interpreted in a number of different ways.

  1. WOW, your a really talented writer. Your songs are not only unique but also your writing was very funny yet intelligent. I have never heard any of these songs and very excited to look into them and hear what they are all about. I liked how you chose songs that expressed emotions not a person. After all that is the point of music isn't it? From your song choices and style of writing you seem like a very interesting person that likes to make people laugh. Can't wait to read more of your blogs !

  3. I never thought about music that way. I love your analogy about how getting to know someone by music is like trying to hotwire a car. I have never heard any of the songs on your playlist either but I'm sure there each unique and different like each of us are. I'm looking forward to listening to them. From what little we have talked in class and your writing style you do seem like a really funny person just like Bekah said.
